History of the Hunt

History:	The Albrighton Woodland pack was established in 1908, before which date the country was hunted by the Albrighton. In the early years the Master of the Albrighton was also the Master of the Woodland pack, a practice which came to an end in 1920, since which time the Albrighton Woodland have had their own Master and their own Committee, to whom the pack belongs. The hounds were presented to the Committee by Capt James Foster in 1916.

Hunt Country:

The country extends some 15 miles north to south and 14 miles east to west, and lies in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. Although motorways and the conurbation have encroached to the east, there remains a good mixture of grass, woodland and arable. Little of the country is closed. Many solid timber hunt fences have been added in recent times. Best centres: Enville, Churchill, and along the Severn.
