History of the Hunt

History:	The Hunt is said to be the oldest pack of foxhounds in Britain, started by the Duke of Buckingham in 1668. Until 1888 it was trencher fed. The first point-to-point was held in 1994.

Hunt Country

Hunt Country:

The country lies east of the A19 between Thirsk and Stokesley, and is a mixture of lowland, forestry and moorland. It is well rideable with hunt jumps and gates. 3/4 bred horse best suited as can be steep going in places. Adjacent Hunts are the Hurworth, York & Ainsty (North), Bedale, Sinnington and Farndale.
