History of the Hunt

Start Year: 1855
End Year: N/A
History: The Drag dates back to 1855 with kennels at Cherry Hinton. It was in existence until 1938 and was restarted in 1946 by N E C Sherwood. Thanks to an appeal by Lady Dorothy Bruntisfield, sufficient funds were collected to build new kennels. The present pack is the property of the Masters. No guarantee.

Hunt Country

Hunt Country: The country is hunted by invitation over the country of the Belvoir, Cambridgeshire with Enfield Chace, Puckeridge, East Essex, Grafton, Fitzwilliam, Fernie, Quorn, West Norfolk and the Woodland Pytchley. The lines are up to about twenty miles long, with three or four checks. The obstacles, line lengths and number of checks varies according to where the meet is held, but include hedges, timber and ditches. The lines vary greatly in length between locations and the hunting days vary from big, fast country to newcomer and pony club friendly days.
