History of the Hunt

History:	The Carlow Farmers Hunt dates from 1979. It was formed to hunt the old Carlow Hunt country, which had been hunted by Naas Harriers since 1966. Hounds hunt fox.

The country comprises the whole of Co Carlow, a small area of Kildare, a slice of Laois and a small part of Co Wicklow. It is principally a bank and ditch country with some stone walls in the south of the country. Adjacent packs are Kilkenny, Kildare, Laois, Shilleagh and Wexford.
