History of the Hunt

History:	The Clinkard Beagles were formed as a private pack in 1989, the hounds being formerly the Aldershot Beagles bred by D R Clinkard since 1958. The Meon Valley Beagles were formed in 1948 by Mrs A Vivian, Mrs C James and Miss Arnold as a private pack, but it shortly became a subscription pack. In 2003 the Meon Valley merged with the Clinkard to form the Clinkard Meon Valley Beagles, and to continue as a private pack under the ownership of Mr & Mrs D R Clinkard. The pack prides itself on being one of the friendliest in the country. In 2020 the Clinkard Meon Valley merged with the Palmer Marlborough to form the Palmer Marlborough and Clinkard Meon Valley beagles

Hunt Country:

The country lies mainly in Hampshire but a small area of Surrey and West Sussex is also hunted. It is bounded by Romsey, Stockbridge, Odiham, Farnham and Midhurst. Adjacent Hunts are the Hampshire (HH), Hursley Hambledon, and the Chiddingfold, Leconfield & Cowdray Foxhounds.
