History of the Hunt

History:	The Colne Valley were originally Foot Harriers. Records go back to 1811 when the pack was known as the Milnsbridge Harriers, becoming the Slaithwaite and Golcar Harriers in 1850 and taking the name Colne Valley in 1893. Owing to the disappearance of the Southern Harrier these hounds were disbanded and a new pack of Stud Book Beagles was formed for the 1951-52 season, hounds being obtained from the Huby, Holme Valley and Airedale Beagles.
