History of the Hunt

History:	The Derbyshire Beagles were formed in 1971, and when parts of the defunct Linby Beagles were acquired in 1975, Nottinghamshire was added to the title; in 1985, Staffordshire was added following amalgamation with the Staffordshire Beagles.

Hunt Country

Hunt Country:

The country is the old Derbys and Notts country plus a part of the old Staffs country, with boundaries from the Vale of Belvoir in the east, to Chesterfield, Uttoxeter and Stafford, and south via Newport and Crackley Bank to Lichfield and Burton-on-Trent. The terrain is a wide mixture of arable, grassland, some hilly and a little stonewall country. The Hunt has for many years carried out visits to North Yorks and to Mid-Wales.
