History of the Hunt

History:	The pack was started by R Dicker in 1969 as the Test Valley Bassets and moved to Lincolnshire at the beginning of the 1972-73 season, when the pack consisted of mixed Bassets and Beagles. In 1975, Mr Dicker took the beagles with him to Ireland, and generously donated the Bassets to the committee. In 1975 the pack was fortunate to receive draft hounds from the Huckworthy and Westerby. The present policy is to breed and select English Bassets along similar lines to the Westerby. In February 2005, the hunt changed its name from the East Lincs Harehounds to the East Lincs Basset Hounds to comply with the new hunting act. In September 2008, hounds were moved to livery with the South Wold Hunt after 11 seasons with the Holderness Hunt in East Yorkshire.

The country hunted lies in the Wolds and Fens to the east of Boston, Bardney, Baumber, Ludford and Louth. The coast marks the eastern boundary.
