Hunt Country

Hunt Country:

The Country is approximately 10 by 30 miles, north and east of Aiken, South Carolina. It is predominantly open fields with pine and hard-wood forests, pastures, and cropland. It is gently rolling with excellent footing of grass, sand, and light clay. Jumps are coops, ditches, banks, and post-and-rails. Bogs near river bottom are easily avoided. The Fort Gordon Military Reservation, Augusta, Georgia is rolling and mostly wooded with sand and clay roads and good footing. Additional country consists of large tracts in Wagener and New Holland, South Carolina. The name changed back to its original name of Edisto River Hounds in 2007.
