History of the Hunt

History:	The Hunt was established in 1877 by George Brown, of Glaisdale Hall, who held the Mastership until his death in December 1899. Hounds were originally a harrier/beagle cross running from 17 to 19 inches and were trencher fed. Zachariah Brown then took them over until he died in February 1919. The Hunt was started as a privately owned pack, hunting both hare and fox until 1951, and since then has hunted fox only. Merged with Goathland Hunt in 2014 to form Goathland and Glaisdale Hunt
