The country is in South Devon. Foxhunting country, loaned by the Dartmoor Foxhounds, is 20 miles square and comprises 50% pasture and woodland; 50% arable. Obstacles are banks surmounted by hedges, virtually unjumpable, with some timber. Hounds are bred to cope with hills. Hare country extends to south Dartmoor.
