History of the Hunt

History: The Hunt was started in 1905 with country (rather larger than now) and hounds lent by Mr Carnaby Forster, Master of the Ledbury. J F Twinberrow built kennels at Suckley, and during his second Mastership, from 1912 till his death in 1931, hunted the country practically at his own expense. The Hunt carried on as the private pack of Lady Waechter until 1987 when the kennels were sold and hounds dispersed. The farmers and landowners then formed a committee to run the country (which is on loan from the Ledbury and the Croome & West Warwickshire). Adjoining Hunts: to the west the North Herefordshire; to the north the Clifton-on-Teme; to the east the Croome & West Warwickshire; to the south the Ledbury.

Hunt Country: The country lies north of Ledbury and Malvern on the borders of Herefordshire and Worcestershire; it is about 10 miles north to south by 8 miles east to west.
