The Country is irregular in size but averages about 16 by 12 miles in Northern Fauquier County bounded by Middleburg on the north, The Plains to the south, the Bull Run Mountains on the east, and Delaplane on the west. The terrain is rolling, moderately wooded, paneled with coops, post-and-rails, log-capped stone walls, well gated for non-jumpers and crossed by two main streams from south to north.
