History of the Hunt

History:	This pack was initially formed in 1919 as the Cranwell Beagles by Major H E Ellershaw (RFC) at Cranwell, existing primarily for officers and cadets to get outdoor recreation and learn about hunting. The Pack was disbanded during the war years and was reformed in 1951, as the Per Ardua (RAF) Beagles, by Group Capt L G Levis at RAF Cranwell, under the auspices of the RAF Beagling Association to encourage Beagling in the RAF. After leaving the kennels at Cranwell the Hunt became a civilian pack in 1977 and changed its name to the Per Ardua Beagles. In 2017 the pack was dispersed and became a Hunt Club without hounds of their own but the country remains open for use of other packs by invitation.
