History of the Hunt

History:	The pack was formed in 1962 to hunt the Purbeck Hills and surrounding district, various other packs having hunted the country since the war. In 1969 the management of the pack was taken over by officers of the Junior Leaders Regiment, RAC, where hounds were kennelled. In 1992 the management was vested in a joint civilian/military committee and maintains a close relationship with the Royal Armoured Corps Centre.

The country lies in that of the South Dorset Foxhounds and also some of the Blackmoor Vale country. It is very varied with pasture, arable, downland, clifftops and vale principally in the north. Best centres: Glanvilles Wootton, Holwell and the western Purbeck Hills. Adjacent packs: Park and Pimpernel.
