With less than a week to go before The Festival of Hunting, we are faced with an interesting puzzle to try to solve before the day.  Can anyone give a positive attribution to this unusual ‘joint-pack’ button?  The button looks early, say around 1800 to 1820, but with all that gilt missing and no visible backmark it’s hard to say.

It has been suggested that it is too early in date to be the first Albrighton/Woodland Hunt amalgamation.  What about Albrighton and Wheatland? Or Atherstone Hunt Club (with) The Warwickshire Hunt?  The style of lettering would fit, but a quick (and I mean quick) skim research hasn’t thrown up a time when they were linked.

Any comments would be appreciated.
