The Rangitikei Hunt are organising the 2019 Coast to Coast Hunter Trials and seeking sponsorship to assist us to make the Inaugural Coast to Coast Hunter Trials a Prestigious Event that Hunters throughout the Country will strive to attain the coveted Coast to Coast Champion Hunter Titles

There are 28 Hunts located throughout the North and South Island and Rangitikei is proud to say our Hunt started in 1881 which makes us the second to oldest Hunt in the Country. Although there a few Hunts Nationally who are financially independent, the majority of Hunts need to fundraise every year to afford the Huntsman wage and maintain the health and welfare of their Hounds.

The number of Financial Members vary from Hunt to Hunt however most Hunts run for approximately 4 months and Hunt at least twice a week. Each Property visited can have multiple property owners as Hounds hunt neighbouring properties. For example, the Rangitikei Hunt has 35 Hunts carded for the season however we have approx. 167 property owners. To show our thanks and respect for the privilege of being able to access precious farmland all Hunts include Property Owners and their families in their functions and festivities.

Generally speaking avid Hunters and or their family and friends are usually involved in other Equestrian Pursuits throughout the remainder of the Year. Hunters are from all backgrounds in life which makes the Hunting community widespread and diverse both nationally and internationally. We are families within families and come together to support each other for the love of Hunting.

We welcome the opportunity to work in partnership with likemined organisations to help us attain our goals.
